School fund raising

If you are responsible for coming up with school fund raising ideas, and it is time to get creative. Many schools go with the traditional fall carnivals, and selling candy bars. These types of schools fund raising may get only minimal participation because it is not something that is fun or exciting for the families and children. The good news is that there are many things he you can do for your school funds raising that will get everybody into the fundraising mood.

Host a Teacher Talent Show:
If you have enough teachers at your school that would participate, then consider hosting a teacher talent show. Everybody involved in this type of school fund raising will have a great time. Allow the teachers to prepare well in advance and sell admission tickets for the show. You can bet that students and families will be lining up at the door to have a good laugh at their favorite teachers. If you want to raise even more money than you can sell food or drinks, or even cotton candy or popcorn for the nights entertainment.

Host a Chili Cookoff:
Having a chili cookoff at your school is another fun way to raise money. You can do a one of two ways--you can put each teacher responsible for coming up with a theme and a chili for their own classroom. Or you can have school families do this Each entry would require an entry fee and you would charge admission to those attending. In return they would get a chance to sample all of the chili. This could be a successful school fund raising project for any age. You might even consider selling drinks and desserts or even hot dogs to add to the sales. Just advertise early so that everyone gets the chance to get involved.
