Public School

Before you enter your kid to a public school, here are the things you should remember. This will help you choose wisely which public school your kids should go to.

The first thing you should know about public schools is the selection system for teachers. Just because you have a degree in education doesnt mean that you will be accepted as a public school teacher. For educators who want to be part of the public school system, they have to pass the state board exam for teachers. That means all of the teachers in public schools have to be licensed before they become public school teachers. No need to doubt about the quality of a teacher in any public school.

Next thing to consider is the population of the public school. Always remember that a public schools funding is dependent on the number of students. Less students means lesser funding. If the school is big enough to accommodate more than a thousand students but there are only 500 students, better get your kids to another school. Although a public school with lesser funding will still have quality teachers, it wont have money to support extra curricular activities for the school such as equipments for sports, music and even a library. The only irony here is that the more the students, the lower the quality of education.

All public schools also have deep connections with the community. Not only do parents and teachers get to decide the right programs in public schools, but the general community is also involved. The community can help with the development of the teaching program of the school or volunteer in different extra curricular programs especially when the school is strapped in funding. Aside from the parents and teachers, the community is also responsible in raising good students that will eventually be citizens of the same community.
