Paper Saving Idea for ParSCORE Users Ralph F. Lewis, Economics Department I found a simple yet interesting idea for saving paper. As many of you ParSCORE users know, printing individual test feedback reports (for each student) can consume a great deal of paper. And, if you would like to print progress reports for each student it requires twice as much paper. Well how about this idea? Laserjet printer users ---------------------- Print the test reports for each student first, then take the printed reports and deal them like a deck of cards so that the top one (the first one alphabetically in your roster) becomes the bottom one and the top one is the last person in your roster. Now place the printed reports in the paper tray, blank side up, and proceed to print the progress reports for each student. The result: The test report is on one side and the student's progress report is on the other. Not only will this same money on paper but it will probably be more informative and convenient for students. Tractor Feed, Dot Matrix Printer -------------------------------- This is even easier for these printers because all you have to do is turn over the paper and feed it into the printer with the first person alphabetically going in first. It is a good idea to leave at least two blank pages on each end so that you do not have problems starting the feed and with paper out warning at the end. In order to get only one test report printed per page, dot matrix users (and Laserjet users too) should make sure that ParSCORE is configured for a page length of 59 lines per page rather than 66. Note: For this to work it is essential that you print out test reports for all students, not just those who took the test. -- For more information, contact Ralph F.
